We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Accountant with a strong background in investment management finance/accounting with a keen interest in data and technology. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of financial accounting and reporting within the investment management sector, combined with a passion for data management and financial technologies. This role will be pivotal in continuing to enhance our Finance processes, improving financial reporting depth and efficiency, and integrating technology solutions.<br><br>You will have the opportunity to work with a dynamic and innovative team that is tight-knit and highly collaborative. You will have exposure to a multi-asset class investment portfolio with a high volume of illiquid investments and direct public securities held with prime brokers and custodians.<br><br><strong>Responsibilities:</strong><br><br>Financial Reporting<br><br>You will be responsible for preparing various reports for the firm's controllers, investment team, CFO, COO, CIO, CEO & principal. This will be a mix of both routine and ad-hoc reports.<br><br>This reporting will span many unique areas such as investment management (liquid and illiquid investments, both direct and funds), charitable giving, personal assets, management company.<br><br>You will be responsible from beginning-to-end for data sourcing, data validation, report preparation, report contents and report format.<br><br>Systems and Automation<br><br>You will become a power-user of multiple financial software platforms, including a leading net worth and investment performance platform, a General Ledger, an Order/Execution Management System. You will become deeply familiar with multiple external data sources such as multiple bank platforms and fund administrators. You will develop an understanding for cleansing, digesting and storing this information in such a way that it can be efficiently leveraged for downstream reporting needs.<br><br>Data Strategy<br><br>You will proactively contribute to the Finance team's strategic data-oriented mindset. Our goal is to maintain data in a golden-source, granular, and accessible format. This allows us to proactively provide insights across a number of different but often overlapping areas. You will pro-actively contribute ideas in this realm as well as aid in maintaining the highest standards of data hygiene.<br><br>Requirements:<br><br>- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Business Information Systems or a related field.<br><br>- 3-6 years of accounting experience in the investment management industry (e.g. audit, tax, fund/corporate accounting, fund administrator, single family office).<br><br>- CPA preferred, CFA plus<br><br>- Intermediate-to-advanced Excel skills.<br><br>- Experience with financial software (e.g., Addepar, Sage Intacct, Enfusion) and data analytics tools (e.g., Alteryx, SQL, Tableau).<br><br>- Experience with Python (or any coding language) a plus.<br><br>- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.<br><br>- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.<br><br>- Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects in a fast-paced environment.<br><br>- Ability to balance both strategic high-level thinking with roll-up-the-sleeves detailed work.
