Vice President - Inbound Transportation

<p style="text-align:left"><b>Job Summary</b></p><p style="text-align:inherit"></p><p style="text-align:left"><b>Job Description</b><p>This Vice President - Inbound Transportation leads the strategic development and execution of key domestic and import inbound logistics and freight activities for the company, reporting to the Senior Vice President of Transportation.   This role oversees a cost structure ranging between $450 - $700 million and a corporate staff of 25 – 30 team members that coordinate shipment of more 50,000 shipping containers and 150,000 domestic shipments annually.<p><span><span><b><span>Responsibilities</span></b></span></span></p><ul><li><p><span><span><span>Oversee the day to day operations related to inbound transportation by developing and overseeing execution of plans that deliver continuous improvement in quality (Damage and Accuracy), service (On-Time Delivery), Inbound Transportation Expense as a % of Purchases) and team member retention (Turnover and Team Member Engagement).</span></span></span></p></li><li><p><span><span><span>Negotiate and manage third party contracts governing import and domestic transportation across all modes,   international PO management, import visibility, load consolidation, freight forwarding and container drayage</span></span></span></p></li><li><p><span><span><span>Develop and execute upon strategic partnerships with third party carriers (international and domestic) to ensure sufficient capacity in times of both ongoing and emergency operations to service internal customer needs in the safest, most efficient and effective manner.</span></span></span></p></li><li><p><span><span><span>Partners closely with Product Division General Managers, Global Trade Compliance Teams, Distribution Operations and Transship Centers to ensure continuous flow of goods throughout Medline’s supply chain.</span></span></span></p></li><li><p><span><span><span>Execute response efforts to local, regional and national emergencies.</span></span></span></p></li></ul><p><b>Requirements  </b></p><div><ul><li><p>Bachelor’s degree </p></li><li><p>10&#43; years of experience in Transportation and Supply Chain Operations</p></li><li><p>Demonstrated experience leading geographically dispersed teams</p></li><li><p>Demonstrated experience achieving results by leading leaders of teams</p></li><li><p>Strong negotiating and collaboration capabilities</p></li><li><p>End-to-end mindset that focused on optimal outcomes for the company</p></li><li><p>Exceptional communications skills to ensure clarity and alignment on priorities for the Inbound Transportation organization<p>Strong executive presence engaging with customers, executive leaders and strategic third party partners</p></li><li><p>Position requires travel up to 25% of the time for business purposes (domestically and internationally</p></li></ul><p><b>Preferred Qualifications</b></p><ul><li><p>Demonstrated Examples of Strategy Development, Deployment and Execution</p></li><li><p>International Transportation (Import/Export) Experience</p></li></ul></div><p><p style="text-align:inherit"></p><p style="text-align:left"><b>Benefits</b> - Medline is committed to offering competitive benefits and a variety of choices to best meet the needs of you and your family.
