Java Developer

<p style="text-align:left;"><b>Job Description</b></p><div><div><div><p>Medline Industries just keeps growing and growing.  In fact, we have grown double digits in 56 of the past 57 years!  Due to our growth, we are adding a senior Java developer to our software development team in Mundelein/Chicago, IL. This position will be responsible for designing and implementing solutions for various business initiatives. The ideal candidate is self-motivated, pleasant to collaborate with, and constantly seeking to improve and expand their skills.<p>(This individual will be asked to work from the Mundelein office Tuesday, Wednesday &amp; Thursday and can work from the office or from home for the other 2 days). <p>Responsibilities:<br />•    Research, plan, design, code, test, deploy, and document high quality software.<br />•    Troubleshoot and resolve software defects.<br />•    Participate in code reviews.<br />•    Adhere to established software development standards.<br />•    Participate and foster DevOps adaptation by the team.<br />•    Facilitate design meetings with users, management, and architects.<br />•    Contribute to the continuous improvement of software development practices.<br />•    Engage in continuous improvement of one’s own skill set, both technical and non-technical<br />•    Develop a solid understanding of Medline’s business domain and apply this to all software development activities.<br />•    Collaborate professionally with customers and colleagues.<br />•    Comply with all company policies and procedures and governmental regulatory mandates.<br />•    Stay current on industry trends and best practices and promote their use as applicable.<br />•    Collaborate with technical and functional teams on designs which optimize system stability, security, and performance.<br />•    Research, assess, and implement solutions in support of business requirements.<br />•    Interact professionally with customers and colleagues.<br />•    Collaborate effectively with the software development team in our partner office in Pune, India<br />•    Assist team in estimating development efforts, Identifying and managing cutover tasks.<br />•    Provide off-hours support as needed, including participating in the on-call rotation.<p></div></div></div><div></div><div><div><div><p>Qualifications - <p>Those interested in applying should be highly proficient in the following:  <p>•    5+ years software development experience.<br />•    Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, Information Systems, Engineering or other related field<br />•    Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate both technically and non-technically as needed.<br />•    Experience in object-oriented development concepts, design patterns, and practices.<br />•    Experience working with Java 8 or higher.<br />•    Experience working with J2EE (JSP, Servlet, EJBs)<br />•    Experience working Spring frameworks, spring boot.<br />•    Experienced working with SOAP and RESTful web service development.<br />•    Experience in writing JUnit’s using Mockito and Power Mock<br />•    Experience with modern application architecture (API First, services back-end supporting decoupled front ends) deployed into cloud-based environments.<br />•    Skilled in Relational data modeling and SQL, In depth knowledge on PL/SQL procedures.<br />•    Clear understanding of DevOps practices such as automated builds, testing, and deployments<br />•    Comfortable with agile development practices<br />•    Highly motivated and dependable collaborator, adjusting approach based on audience.<br />•    Ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines, prioritizing as needed.<p>The following experience is also desirable:<p>•    Cloud and container-based development and deployment required (Azure preferred)<br />•    Oracle Database experience preferred.<br />•    Docker, Docker Desktop, Kubernetes, Helm, Terraform, Web load, CI/CD, Jenkins<br />•    Redis cache, Cosmos Db, Azure SQL server, App Insight, AIS, ACR, AKS, Azure api gateway etc<br />•    Swagger/OpenAPI<br />•     OData<br />•    OAuth 2.0<br />•    JSON, XML<br />•    Splunk<br />•    HTML, CSS, JavaScript<br /> <br />About Medline<br />Medline Industries is the largest privately held manufacturer and distributor of healthcare supplies in the United States, providing more than 550,000 products that serve the entire continuum of care.
