<b>JOB DESCRIPTION</b> <br> <br> <strong>Overview:</strong> <br> <br>The Material Handler III, provides warehouse services assigned through safe, efficient, cost effective and accurate handling of customer products and material using specially equipped trucks such as slips-sheet, clamps and reach. This position may involve all phases of loading, unloading, staging and storage of customer's product as well as the use of computer equipment.<br> <br> <b>RESPONSIBILITIES</b> <br> <br> <strong>Responsibilities: </strong> <br> <br>This position is responsible for, but not limited to, the following:<br> <br>Loading & Unloading<br> <ul> <li>Load picked orders or (pull & load) according to policies and procedures, completing appropriate paperwork including Bill of Lading, Pick Report, Trailer Audit and Lot Verification.</li> <li>Unload, move, stack and stage customer products and materials both by hand and using forklift or other power equipment, keeping appropriate records and reports.</li> </ul>Pulling Orders<br> <ul> <li>Accurately locate and load, both by hand and using appropriate motorized equipment (i.e. forklift truck), customer product onto/from pallets, trays, racks and shelves according to established procedures and safety regulations. Is able to operate special equipment as necessary, such as a turret clamp and slip sheet equipment and RF unit (if applicable).</li> <li>Count, weigh and record number of units of materials handled on daily production sheet.</li> <li>Complete specialized order processing for loading by stenciling, slip-sheeting, shrink wrapping, labeling and consolidating as required on order.</li> </ul>Operating & Maintenance - Equipment and Grounds<br> <ul> <li>Assign / verify trailers to appropriate dock and/or yard location, trailers locked to dock-lock and/ or chocking the wheels (if applicable), following all safety rules and Company policy.</li> <li>Daily inspect and repair or make adjustments before operating tow-motor vehicles, following safety and maintenance instructions, completing the tow-motor inspection sheet at the beginning of each shift and/or assigned to another piece of equipment; report immediately any defective equipment to supervisor.</li> <li>Prepare trailers prior to loading product by inspecting and cleaning as needed to ensure product preservation.</li> <li>Assists in building and grounds maintenance to ensure that the facility is maintained in a clean, neat safe and orderly manner.</li> </ul>Reports<br> <ul> <li>Complete activity and statistical reports as assigned by supervisor.</li> <li>Assist in physical inventories ensuring facility and contents are secure.</li> </ul>Miscellaneous<br> <ul> <li>Provide other services such as sanitation requirement activities, assembling crates (boxes) to contain products, and/or moving loose materials to containers as directed by supervisor and/or team leader.</li> </ul> <strong>Key Results:</strong> <br> <ul> <li>Apply the APL Logistics Continuous Improvement (ACI) Model for operational efficiency to improve business process, increase proficiency and increase efficiency through waste elimination.</li> <li>Apply the 5S Lean methodology to sustain a safe, clean and orderly facility.</li> <li>Position requires the incumbent's performance to meet and occasionally exceed standards as set by the company for warehouse safety, food safety, sanitation, quality, productivity and customer service.</li> </ul> <br> <br> <b>QUALIFICATIONS</b> <br> <br> <strong>Qualifications: </strong> <br> <ul> <li>High School degree or equivalent required</li> <li>Two (2) years forklift/tow motor experience required including fork lift certification preferred.</li> <li>Knowledge of inventory control and general warehouse procedures.</li> <li>Light data entry skills required</li> <li>Ability to read and comprehend basic instructions, to interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedures</li> <li>Ability to operate forklift - both sit down and stand up, tow motor, motorized and non motorized pallet jack; clamp, reach and slip sheet.</li> <li>Ability to write legibly</li> <li>Must have basic math skills</li> <li>Ability to make decisions on customer acceptance based on past experience and fitness for use</li> <li>Must have attention to detail for continuous mental and visual attention</li> <li>Data entry skills</li> <li>Language skills - English</li> <li>Must have attention to detail for continuous mental and visual attention</li> <li>Must be a Team Player</li> <li>Ability to communicate in a professional and positive manner</li> </ul> <strong>Additional Knowledge, Skills & Abilities</strong> <br> <ul> <li>1-2 years warehouse or related work experience preferred</li> <li>RF experienced preferred</li> <li>Action Oriented</li> <li>Teamwork - showing a commitment to teamwork and collaboration.</li> <li>Respect - extending dignity and respect to all people.</li> <li>Integrity - fostering trust and a positive work environment.</li> <li>Innovation - bringing creativity to the workplace.</li> <li>Customer Focus - achieving Company, department, and personal goals through a strong customer focus. </li> </ul>The hourly wage for this position is $21.00, plus shift differential.<br> <br> <strong>Candidates are eligible for the following benefits: </strong> <br> <br>&bull; PTO<br>&bull; Company Bonus Plan &bull; 401(K) SAVE Plan<br>&bull; Annual Fixed Contribution<br>&bull; 8 paid holidays<br>&bull; Medical, Dental, Vision, and Life & Disability coverage<br>&bull; Voluntary Benefits<br>&bull; Accident/Critical Illness/Hospital Indemnity Benefits<br>&bull; Tuition reimbursement and student loan assistance<br>&bull; Employee Assistance Program (EAP)<br>&bull; Health Savings Account (HSA) with employer funding and wellness incentives<br>&bull; Flexible Spending Account (FSA)<br>&bull; Employee Referral Program<img src="https://counter.adcourier.com/YmJnZW5lcmljLjk1MTU4LjEyNTI0QGFwcGxvZ2lzdGljc2NvbXAuYXBsaXRyYWsuY29t.gif">
