Shipping/Receiving Clerk

The following duties are normal for this position. The incumbent <b>may perform some or all </b>of these duties however; it is not an exclusive or all-inclusive list. Other duties may be assigned. <br /><ul><li> Communicates instructions to checker/loaders, contracted truck drivers, and OTR carriers </li><li> Coordinates and execute shipping schedules, and dispatch local freight shipments </li><li> Creates shipping labels for paperwork received and contacts carrier to arrange shipment </li><li> Compares identifying information and counts, weighs, or measures items of incoming and outgoing shipments to verify information against bills of lading, invoices, orders, or other records </li><li> Confers with managers to ensure coordination of production lines and finished product </li><li> Responsible for coordination of product completion and shipments on a timely basis by logging and inventory of the shipment and keeping a running total of the shipments </li><li> Resolve outbound and incoming delivery issues with key stakeholders </li><li> Examines outgoing shipments to ensure shipments meet specifications </li><li> Examines incoming shipments, rejects damaged items, records shortages, and corresponds with shipper to rectify damages and shortages </li><li> Coordinates movements of trailers with yard spotter </li><li> Assists with waste tracking and disposal </li><li> Prepares business reports as needed </li><li> Maintains industry, professional and technical knowledge </li></ul><p><b> Education &amp; Experience </b><br /><ul><li> Education - none </li><li> Some relevant experience required </li></ul><p><b> Education &amp; Experience Preferred </b><p><ul><li> High School diploma or equivalent required </li></ul><p><b> Knowledge, Skills &amp; Abilities </b><br /><ul><li> Knowledge of and ability to use and influence organization's policies, standards and procedures guiding manufacturing processes </li><li> Knowledge of strategies and tools for controlling and optimizing the factors that lie between the purchase of raw materials and delivery of finished products </li><li> Ability to effectively manage the business relationship and transactions with the suppliers of raw materials or product components </li><li> Knowledge of issues and considerations for effectively managing local or distributed inventories of raw materials, work in progress and finished goods </li><li> Knowledge of the processes, tools and operational considerations for effective and efficient movement of goods and materials throughout the manufacturing cycle </li><li> Knowledge of the day-to-day operations of a manufacturing plant or facility </li></ul><p><b> Physical Requirements &amp; Work Environment </b><br /><ul><li> Primarily works in an office environment with occasional time spent in a production and/or warehouse setting </li><li> Occasional lifting up to 25 lbs. </li><li> Frequent walking/standing required </li></ul> <img src="https://ars2.equest.com/? response_id=01fc4b32101fbface53d3d378abab72c&view" alt=" " width="1" height="1"/>
