T&M is currently seeking a Resident Engineer to join our Municipal practice group in Middletown, NJ.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the daily observation of the contractor operations for transportation projects in NJ
  • The RE conducts reviews and verifications of construction schedules; baseline and updates, in coordination with the client
  • Perform Project Manager type responsibilities
  • Perform inspections, observation of field testing and commissioning
  • Review staffing reports, payroll certifications and other labor documentation from the contractor
  • Responsible for site safety, permit compliance and coordination with other adjacent projects
  • Monitor Contractor compliance with the Contractor’s Safety and Health Plan
  • Monitor and ensure Contractor’s compliance with the approved Project Plans
  • Work with the Contractor to minimize disruptions to the public
  • Log and coordinate with the designer to respond to Contractor’s submittals, RFIs and shop drawings
  • Solve complex challenges relating to project schedule and budget as an effective member of the project Team (Owner, T&M and Contractors)
  • Perform routine assignments requiring application of spreadsheets, and scheduling software

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Architecture, or Construction Management
  • Professional Engineer license or NICET IV Certified
  • 10+ years of experience in RE activities and managing construction field teams
  • Public Agency experience including but not limited to NJDOT, NJTA, PANYNJ, NJ Transit, and DRPA Preferred
