<strong>Project Manager/Estimator </strong><br><br>GPI Construction is a rapidly growing 48+ year old General Contracting/Construction Management firm located in Brattleboro Vermont, we are seeking a qualified Project Manager and Estimator. Most of our sales volume is commercial and from repeat clients, our geographic coverage area is approximately a 60-mile radius of Brattleboro, VT.<br><br>We perform a mix of Public/Private construction management and hard bid projects with a focus on commercial construction and renovation. Our projects range from small renovations to projects up to $6 Million.<br><br><strong>Responsibilities</strong><br><br><ul><li>Perform plan reviews</li><li>Review proposal specifications, drawings, attend pre-bid meeting, etc. to determine scope of work and required contents of estimate</li><li>Write Scopes of Work and Prepare Subcontract Agreement</li><li>Taking lead with Estimating, Budgeting and Bidding of projects</li><li>Reviewing RFP, Project specifications and drawings to determine scope of work and required contents of estimate</li><li>Preparing estimates by calculating complete take-off of scope of work</li><li>Preparing requests for subcontractor quotations and analysis of subcontractor quotes</li><li>Preparing conceptual estimates from preliminary design documents</li><li>Providing assistance to field operations with Change Order estimates and pricing</li><li>Providing assistance with pre-construction activities</li><li>Planning, execution and close-out of construction projects</li><li>Communicate effectively with other key staff, contractors and subcontractors.</li><li>Processing submittals and RFI's.</li><li>Communicate effectively with Owner, coordinate meetings, and prepare mtg. minutes</li><li>Draft meeting agendas for all preconstruction meetings</li><li>Establish and maintain relationships with clients and subcontractors</li><li>Ensure that all work is planning consistently with the contract documents and will meet or exceed client expectations</li><li>Attend periodic meetings including owner meetings, subcontractor meetings, etc.</li><li>Estimate and execute small projects and service calls</li></ul><br><strong>Ideal candidate will have</strong>:<br><br><ul><li>Minimum of 10 years of commercial construction experience</li><li>2- or 4-year degree in engineering or construction management a plus</li><li>Ability to multi-task on a high level</li><li>General knowledge of all aspects of construction</li><li>Possess judgement to negotiate the critical balance between budget and the construction process</li><li>Have excellent problem-solving skills to manage details necessary for a successful project</li><li>High attention to detail and quality</li><li>Ability to read architectural & MEP prints and perform quantity take-offs</li><li>Excellent written verbal and communication skills</li><li>Proficiency in Microsoft office products including MS project</li><li>Excellent written and verbal communication skills</li><li>Ability to handle a variety of duties with minimal supervision</li><li>Proficiency with Sage/Timberline, Planswift and Procore a plus</li></ul><br><strong>Compensation/Benefits</strong>:<br><br><ul><li>Salary - $95K - $130K commensurate with experience and ability</li><li>Simple IRA w/ company match</li><li>Bonus/Profit sharing based on company performance</li><li>Paid vacations/sick days</li><li>Disability & health insurance available</li><li>Company Vehicle or Vehicle allowance</li></ul>
