Neighborhood Schoolhouse is hiring for the positio of Lead Teacher in our Preschool classroom. This classroom will provide high quality early care and education for children ages 2 - 3, and in some cases younger children who are ready to move into this space and grouping, as young as 18 months old on occasion.

Duties

This teacher's role is to lead the classroom while implementing a rich and equitable learning environment where communication is key.She/He/They will be responsible for implementing lesson plans and quality care for every child in a developmentally appropriate manner, ensuring opportunities for creative growth while promoting all areas of developmentally appropriate practice including, but not limited to: social-emotional, cognitive, physical and speech/ language skills in a child-centered, nature-based learning environment, while maintaining state child care licensing regulations, all while having fun and bringing positive energy to the classroom and team!

Requirements

At least 20 years of age, is a high school graduate or has completed a GED, and meets at leastone
of the followingqualifications, along with at least 12 months of experience working with children or in a similar field:
  • VT Career Ladder level 3 certificate
  • An Associate degree from an accredited college, majoring in Early Childhood Ed, or Human Development, or Elementary Education or Child and Family Services
  • A Certificate of Completion from the Registered Child Care Apprenticeship Program
  • A Child Care Certificate from the Community College of VT with 12 months experience
  • Successful completion of 21 college credits with an early childhood or school-age focus
