Job Summary: Provides initial clinical review of referral for services at the Brattleboro Retreat in the Admissions department. In collaboration with the physician, the Admission Bed Placement Coordinator provides guidance and clinical information to inform the most appropriate placement of acute patient referrals. Participates and/or leads performance improvement activities that improve patient care and financial performance.

QUALIFICATIONS:

1. Vermont RN licensure or eligibility for Vermont licensure. Bachelors degree in nursing preferred. Minimum of three years’ experience in behavioral health preferred. Two years of bed placement supervision -preferred.

2. Computer literate, knowledge of PC environment, data entry skills, email, EHR documentation and order entry.

3. Proven ability to problem solve and evaluate appropriate patient placement.

4. Proven competence with physical assessment, nursing care and theory, as well as level of care criteria and nursing management of medical comorbidities.
