EOE including disability/veteran<br> <br> <br> <br> <strong>Job Summary:</strong> <br> <br>The Heavy Media Utility (HMU) is responsible for supporting the sorters and operators in the Heavy Media Department by ensuring the safety of equipment and communicating effectively.<br> <br> <strong>Supervisory Responsibilities:</strong> <br> <ul> <li>None.</li> </ul> <br> <strong>Duties/Responsibilities:</strong> <br> <ul> <li>Support team members of the Heavy Media Department by utilizing our H-3 Lean principles and our Core Values</li> <li>Inspect and perform Preventative Maintenance (PM) on all Heavy Media equipment. Ensure all guards are in place throughout the shift.</li> <li>PM Mobile Equipment (i.e. forklifts and skid steers)</li> <li>Keep all tubs and bins dumped and cleaned out through the shift; includes coin trammels and W-8 as needed.</li> <li>Monitor and/or inspect the sludge pump throughout the shift.</li> <li>Keep the work area clean and water trained or swept up.</li> <li>Move fesi or magnetite to job crane area for Heavy Media.</li> <li>Weight up CV, magnesium, computer chips, airbags, and money at the end of each shift.</li> <li>Ensure proper identification of all products throughout the shift.</li> <li>Give breaks as needed to Operators and/or Sorters.</li> <li>Other job duties as needed.</li> </ul> <strong>Required Skills/Abilities: </strong> <br> <ul> <li>Mechanical Aptitude - Having the aptitude to understand and successfully operate machines or tools including computers, forklifts and/or skid steers</li> <li>Visual Alertness/Attentiveness - Must be able to distinguish between colors</li> <li>Math - Capable of completing basic math skills; including the aptitude to weigh, record, total, and calculate percentages on test reports</li> <li>Communication - Must be able to read, write legibly, and talk to others to convey information effectively; may require the use of hands and/or arms or radio communication</li> <li>Critical Thinking - Using logic and reasoning to identify strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions, or approaches to problems</li> <li>Coordination - Adjusting actions in relation to others' actions</li> <li>Active Listening - Giving full attention to what other people are saying, taking time to understand the points being made, asking questions as appropriate, and not interrupting at inappropriate times</li> </ul> <br> <strong>Education and Experience:</strong> <br> <ul> <li>High school diploma or equivalent.</li> </ul> <br> <strong>Physical Requirements: </strong> <br> <ul> <li>Must be able to sweep and do light shoveling.</li> <li>Must be able to climb ladders.</li> <li>Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods of time in a hot or cold environment. <ul> <li>Standard shift is 8 hours</li> </ul> </li> <li>Must be able to lift or move up to 75 pounds.</li> <li>Must be able to frequently lift, carry, push, and pull materials.</li> <li>Must be able to bend, stoop, crawl, squat, sit, balance, twist at the waist and neck, and/or crouch to perform work over the duration of the shift.</li> <li>Must be able to function in a loud, dusty, hot, cold, or humid environment for the duration of the shift.</li> </ul> <br> <br><img src="https://counter.adcourier.com/YmJnZW5lcmljLjIyNDMyLjEyNTI0QGtvY2hjb21wLmFwbGl0cmFrLmNvbQ.gif">
