NSTRUMENT ASSEMBLY, S.E. SHIRES COMPANY
S.E. Shires, a leading manufacturer of high-end professional brass instruments, is seeking an experienced, energetic, and hard-working craftsperson to join the team in Holliston, Massachusetts. We are a small, tight-knit group of craftspeople dedicated to making some of the finest handmade brass instruments in the world. This is more than just our job, it is our passion.
Responsibilities:
- Assemble simple to sophisticated instrument parts and components
- Use hand tools, touches, and other light machinery
- Basic soldering and brazing of brass, nickel, and steel parts
- Follow established procedures on routine work with limited supervision
- Maintain a clean and orderly work area
- Wear appropriate PPE including safety glasses, face shields, and gloves
- Ensure work is done safely and meets quality standards
- Support continuous improvement activities and participate in problem solving activities
- Consistently meet production, quality, and attendance requirements
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED required; Bachelor’s Degree or Technical School Degree preferred
- Strong attention to detail, and uphold highest standards for quality
- Good communication skills in English, both written and verbal
- Good hand-eye coordination and dexterity
- Ability to work in a fast-paced production environment
- Musical instrument experience is a plus
