About the Team

This recently created position will be a key member of the Electronic Solutions Technology Enabled Learning (TEL) team based in Adelaide where you will be working with other Instructional Designers, Multi Media Programmers and Graphic Artists gaining exposure to programs such as Land 400.

About the Role

The Instructional Designer is responsible for the planning and development of learning packages including courseware, digital training aids and integration into learning management systems to provide quality training outputs and ensuring the delivery of a successful blended learning environment to our clients.

Working as part of a tight knit team, this role includes the development of training needs analyses which will advise our clients on the types of training, tools and complexity best suited to produce high quality training outcomes for its trainees.

The general and generic duties of the Instructional Designer include, but are not limited to:
  • Development of instructional materials to match learning needs;
  • Development of instructor led and self-paced courseware, including trainer and trainee handouts;
  • Responsible for the creation of online learning material through all facets of development to delivery;
  • Analysis of requirements;
  • Integration of courseware and digital training aids into relevant Learning Management Systems;
  • Development and integration of assessments and course evaluations;
  • Collaborative development of visual and interactive training aids;
  • Provision of technical support and assistance to the training team; and
  • Maintain strict confidentiality.

The experience and skillset best suited to this role includes:
  • Diploma of Training Design and Development, Certificate IV in Training and Assessment;
  • 5 years' experience with instructional design;
  • E-learning authoring tools (Adobe Captivate highly regarded);
  • Experience with learning technology and associated tools (Knowledge Worker, Sumatra);
  • Experience with Moodle based Training Management Systems;
  • Understanding of technical documentation;
  • Experience with managing training content to align with specific learning outcomes;
  • Ability to travel both interstate and internationally when required; and
  • Eligibility to obtain an Australian Government Security Clearance (Australian Citizenship required).
