Southern Coos Hospital & Health Center has Per-Diem openings for onsite CNA II in our Med-Surg Department. The CNA II assists in giving quality patient care under the direct supervision of the RN or LPN. CNAs communicate in an effective, and efficient manner with coworkers, patients, visitors, physicians, and other disciplines and departments. The CNA II will have completed an Oregon State Board of Nursing-approved CNA training program and understands the scope of practice the level of training allows.

The CNA is responsible for the efficient organization of the nurse's station. Answers phone calls, maintains patient charts, relays information to and from other departments, and this position schedules appointments for patients when necessary.

The CNA shares an integral part of the team approach to the delivery of individualized, patient care, based on SCHHC policies and standards of care. The CNA is supervised by the Charge Nurse and reports to the Med-Surg Manager.

Skills, Knowledge, & Experience Requirements:

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • CNA II certification to practice in the state of Oregon is required.
  • One to two years of Hospital experience is preferred.
  • Have and maintain Basic Life Support Provider (BLS) certification.
  • Basic arrhythmia class encouraged.
  • One year of acute care and/or long-term care work experience is preferred.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with a drive to provide exceptional service.
  • Ability to maintain strict confidentiality.
  • Attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Excellent oral and written communication, and computer proficiency specifically in Microsoft Office and online software.
