We're currently seeking a VP of Production at a leading industrial equipment manufacturer in St. Charles, IL. You will play a vital role in overseeing and leading production operations within the machine shop, ensuring production schedules/timelines, driving production team meetings, and implementing new strategies.

Base Salary : 120k to 140k

Qualifications:

  • 10+ years working within a manufacturing environment with 3+ years in leadership, ideally as a Production Supervisor, Production Manager, Plant Manager, Operations Supervisor, Operations Manager, or related supervisory/managerial roles.
  • Bachelor’s Degree, preferably in Industrial or Mechanical Engineering or related degrees in engineering or management.
  • Experience working within a metal fabrication, or machining environment.
    • Experience overseeing foreman is a plus!
    • Plant has machining, welding, assembly, painting, cutting/sawing, etc.
      • OR manufacturers of industrial fans, blowers, machines, equipment, electro-mechanical, welding, fabrication, metal, agriculture, mining, steel, and machining.
  • Experience working within an ISO 9001 environment.
  • Experience working within an MRP / ERP system, Epicor, Made to Manage,
  • Experienced and proficient with Excel, can do VLOOKUPs, pivot tables, asset charts, etc.,
  • Ability to develop and implement strategic plans that drive organizational success.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. Ability to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization.
  • Experience with disciplinary action, hiring & firing, performance reviews, and monitoring employees.

Responsibilities:

  • The team has a daily production meeting at 8:00am everyday where the VP of Production will meet with the 5 Foreman
  • Together, you'll talk about the manufacturing schedule and where they are at with each project going on.
  • Talk about what the status is for each unit and collaborate if they need to adjust schedules or potentially flex resources based on what they have in the facility.
  • Disciplinary action, hiring/firing/interviewing, and monitoring employee performance, assisting or teaching when needed.
  • Working on 5S, continuous improvement projects.
