Join our team as an Operating Room Registered Nurse (RN) where every moment matters. Come be a part of Connecticut's most comprehensive healthcare network. St. Vincent's Medical Center in Bridgeport is offering a great opportunity to work with a large multispecialty provider group, and special needs services for adults and children. Job responsibilities include providing direct nursing care, promoting safe care for patients undergoing operative and other invasive procedures, and maintaining a high level of sterility in the surgical environment.
- Demonstrate knowledge and skills necessary to assess patients and provide individualized care
- Review charts for completeness prior to and after surgical procedures
- Ensure adherence to all relevant health and safety standards
- Communicate effectively with patients, teammates, and physicians to ensure continuity of care
- Assess patients prior to surgery and prepare the operating room with supplies and equipment
- Monitor patient vital signs and adhere to safety standards and precautions during surgeries
Qualifications
- Registered Nurse license and BLS certification required
- Minimum of 2 years' experience as an Operating Room Nurse preferred
- Excellent knowledge of aseptic and sterile techniques
- Team player with excellent communication and organizational skills
- Associate degree required, BSN preferred
