Travel Nurse RN - PCU - Progressive Care Unit - $1,875 per week

Certification Details Required Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS. Job Details A large system in Nebraska/Iowa are looking for Night PCU RN's. 12 hour shifts, 36 hours guaranteed. 2 years of unit experience. Looking for someone who is flexible and willing to learn as well as take feedback along the way. A nurse on this unit is successful if they are a team player, are flexible and adaptable, and have good communication skills. Different cultural populations are served on this unit- primarily Hispanic and Somalian. Job Requirements 2 years of unit experience. BLS, ACLS, NIHSS required. Schedule Information Shifts: 0630-1830, 1830-0630 Smart Square online scheduling. Every third weekend. Rotating holidays with perm staff. Floating to MedSurg or to ICU to take PCU acuity patients is required. Unit Specific Information Ratios: 1:4-5 both days and nights. Common diagnoses/Types of patients: Adults, Cardiac med/surg, dialysis, cancer diagnosis, vascular,sepsis, adult respiratory, stroke, post stent, post pacer placement, renal failure. RNs required to titrate drips: Yes. Common titratable &/or set rate drips: Heparin, Nitro, Dopamine, Cardizem, Amiodarone, insulin. Charge Nurse on each shift? Does the charge nurse take an assignment? : Yes. Are there nurse aids/patient care techs on this unit? Ratios? Duties? : Yes, 1:12. RT Equipment (Vents, Cpap, BiPap, High Flow, etc.) Are RNs required to do anything with these besides trouble shoot? : High flow. Are there Tele/Monitor Techs on this unit? Are RNs required to read their own strips? What brand are the tele monitors? : RNs must read and interpret. Scrub Color/Dress code: Navy Blue. How many shifts of unit/department specific orientation? : 1 week. Overhead lifts in half the rooms, portable lifts, vein finders, bladder scanner. Additional Details RTO needed upfront (7 or less days per 13 week contract). Additional RTO will not be approved, including after submissions. Radius Rule: 50 miles AND candidates may not be full time, part time, or PRN with any facility associated with CommonSpirit, including CHI and/or Dignity.
