A Surgical Technologist, also known as a Surgical Technician, is a trained healthcare professional who provides assistance to surgeons and other medical personnel during surgical procedures. The main responsibility of a Surgical Technologist is to ensure that the operating room is properly prepared for surgery, and that all necessary equipment and supplies are available and functioning properly.

The duties of a Surgical Technologist may vary depending on the type of surgery being performed, but typically include:

- Preparing the operating room by sterilizing equipment and ensuring that all necessary supplies are available

- Assisting the surgical team by passing instruments, supplies, and other materials as needed

- Monitoring the patient's vital signs during surgery and reporting any changes to the surgical team

- Maintaining a sterile field by following established procedures and protocols

- Assisting with the positioning and draping of the patient

- Transporting the patient to and from the operating room
