Strategic Sourcing Manager

Anova is seeking a Strategic Sourcing Manager to join our team. The Strategic Sourcing Manager will be responsible for developing and implementing strategic sourcing strategies to optimize costs, improve supplier performance, and ensure the availability of components across Anova’s supply chain. This role will work with Anova’s global supply chain and interface with contract manufacturers, component suppliers, and telecommunications providers.


 

About the Role:

  • Negotiate preferred / best pricing and supply terms & conditions.
  • Lead new product development (NPD) quotations and provide recommendations by analyzing and summarizing quote responses.
  • Lead onboarding / qualification of new suppliers.
  • Successfully negotiate and maintain supplier contracts.
  • Partner with suppliers and engineering on value add, value engineering (VAVE) opportunities.
  • Track projects performance against defined milestones, costs and benefits, driving gap closure when necessary to keep projects on track.
  • Support the purchasing function and lead the resolution on any supply problems (shortages) which may impact business operations.
  • Actively drive value beyond cost–e.g., growth, innovation, risk management.
  • Lead supplier quality initiatives / resolution.
  • Effectively communicate status of supplier production to key stakeholders (site leads/planners).
  • Manage suppliers toward achieving Anova’s target on time goal of 95%+ and all Safety, Quality, Delivery and Cost (SQDC) metrics.
  • Develop and manage vendor performance scorecards.
  • Act as an interface between suppliers and other relevant departments on purchasing processes, projects, and activities.
  • Conduct analysis in Excel and/or other BI tools to support procurement activities including spend analytics, budget analysis, etc.
  • Work closely with others cross functionally in the organization and review opportunities for continuous improvement and business improvements.
  • Regularly monitor the market for category leading practices and demand/supply shifts such as supply consolidation, technology innovations, etc.

 

What you’ll need to succeed:

  • A Bachelor’s degree (BS) in Supply Chain, Operations Management, Business, or Engineering, or related, equivalent experience. A Master’s degree (MS) is desired.
  • 5+ years’ experience in sourcing. Experience in electronics sourcing and quality is desired.
  • CPM or APICs, Six Sigma and PMI certification preferred.
  • Excellent written/verbal communication and presentation skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and processes.
  • Understand and apply formal project management principles.
  • Strong negotiation skills.
  • Capability to build strong relationships with global suppliers.
  • Competence to think and act quickly, creatively, and independently to resolve supply disruptions.
  • Ability to perform analysis and interpret results into actionable steps.
  • Capacity to manage multiple initiatives at once.
