Senior Tax Associate - Gift, Trust, & Estate

Our client is an outstanding, boutique, Public Accounting firm specializing in High-Net-Worth and Family Office clients looking to bring on a Gift, Trust, and Estate specialist. This position will be responsible for preparation of federal & state gift, trust, & estate returns and will work directly with clients on trust & estate administration.

Key Responsibilities:

Tax Preparation:

Prepare and file federal and state Gift, Trust, and Estate tax returns (Forms 706, 709, 1041, etc.).
Review and interpret tax regulations to ensure accurate preparation of tax documents.
Assist attorneys in analyzing and resolving tax issues related to trusts, estates, and gifts.

Trust & Estate Administration:

Manage the administration of estates and trusts, including asset collection, valuation, and distribution.
Assist with probate proceedings, filings, and other legal documentation.
Coordinate with fiduciaries, accountants, and financial institutions to manage estate assets and accountings.
Draft and file necessary legal documents such as petitions, inventories, and final accounts.
Track and meet deadlines for estate and trust filings.

Client Interaction:

Communicate with clients, beneficiaries, and other parties to gather relevant information.
Provide updates on estate and trust administration processes.
Respond to inquiries related to tax filings, estate administration, and legal documentation.

Compliance & Documentation:

Maintain accurate and organized records of all tax filings, trust documents, and estate administration proceedings.
Ensure compliance with federal and state tax laws and filing deadlines.
Conduct legal research and prepare summaries as needed.

Qualifications:

Education:

Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required.
CPA or EA certification preferred

Experience:

3+ years of experience in estate, trust, and gift tax preparation and administration preferred.
Proficiency in preparing federal and state tax returns for estates, trusts, and gifts.
Experience with estate and trust administration, including probate proceedings.

Skills:

Strong knowledge of estate, trust, and gift tax laws.
Proficiency with tax software and legal research tools.
Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines effectively.
Excellent client service skills.
