Our rapidly growing engineering department has an immediate need for a Senior Design Engineer (6 month contract) who has the technical expertise to design gas turbine parts, the ability to prepare engineering documentation, and the skills to lead a team of engineers. This position reports directly to the engineering manager. This is an excellent opportunity to join a team that is dedicated and passionate about taking UNEW to new heights.

Responsibilities:

● Manage and review all designed products in conformance with UNEW standards
● Actively communicating with the engineering department and management to coordinate inspection of parts
● Manage all aspects of the design improvements of gas turbine parts: such as performing fit, clearance and stress calculations, as well as engine cross-section analysis
● Develop conceptual, preliminary, and detailed designs of various gas turbine components
● Generate accurate and concise records of each job (job package, electronic files, models, etc.) engineering design reports, data analytics and financial data in accordance with established processes and requirements
● Experience working with NX Software
● Perform patent searches and analyze patents
● Prepare necessary documentation such as written descriptions of inspection results, from engineering specifications in accordance with established ISO9001 and ISO17025 procedures

Requirements:

● Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering
● 8+ years’ work experience in Gas Turbine Engineering or equivalent field
● Ability to interpret and analyze technical blueprints for industry engineering specification
● Extensive knowledge of how to utilize Structured Light Scanning data to create and CAD models.
● Impeccable attention to detail & being the type of person who is continually seeking solutions to apply to your work environment/systems to increase productivity
● Frequently contributes to continuous effort improvements
● This position is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) which requires U.S. person status. ITAR defines U.S. person as an U.S. citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident (i.e. ‘Green Card Holder’) Political Asylee, or Refugee.

Advanced proficiency working within:

● GOM/ Zeiss Inspect
● NX software
● ASME-Y14.5 dimensioning and tolerancing
