Senior Accountant - Corporate Accounting

We are currently seeking a Senior Accountant to join our team. This position will be on-site based out of our corporate office in Nashville, TN and will report directly to the Corporate Accounting Manager. This position is a vital element of the Corporate Accounting Team as he or she will contribute to the successful day-to-day operations and long-term growth of Corporate Accounting overall. The Corporate Accounting team oversees all aspects of Company financial reporting, including month-end close, account reconciliation and analysis, and preparation of GAAP financial statements and disclosures. This role also has direct involvement in the annual external audit process. The team also provides technical accounting support for the organization. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication and problem-solving skills. This position also requires expertise in advanced application and use of accounting principles, including GAAP research.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

Actively participate in monthly, quarterly, and yearly accounting close processes by performing activities, including account reconciliations, journal entry preparations, management reports, as well as other financial analyses and reports that may be required by management.
Assist in multi-entity GAAP financial statement preparation, including footnote disclosures and consolidations.
Conduct special projects in addition to ad hoc analysis and reporting.
Assist with design and implementation of financial reporting enhancements across the company.
Prepare year end audit schedules and assist the auditors with their inquiries.
Recommend to management any updates to accounting policies.
Technical accounting research.
Assist with budgeting and proformas, as needed.
Active team member in changes to comply with new accounting standards.

Qualifications (Skills & Abilities):

CPA preferred (or CPA eligible).
Experience with financial statement preparation and GAAP research.
Ability to act and operate independently with minimal daily direction to accomplish objectives.
Ability to research issues, make recommendations, and pick up quickly on new systems and processes.
Excellent interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills.
Advanced Excel skills.
Power BI experience is a plus.
Knowledge of FASB requirements, Generally Accepted Accounting Principles.
Must have strong written and verbal communication skills and have the ability to work with all types of individuals.

Education and Experience:

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance, CPA preferred.
Minimum of 2-4 years of accounting and financial reporting experience.
Experience working with an ERP system, Oracle experience preferred.
Experience working with IBM Planning and Analysis is a plus.
