Job Duties:

  • Meets with therapists to provide information about patient medical problems
  • Assists the treatment team in incorporating medical issues into treatment planning
  • Takes verbal orders from the Medical Director, documents them in the patient record and carries them out accurately and professionally
  • Administers medications when patients are unable to do so themselves
  • Provides routine nursing care under the supervision of the Medical Director/ Director of Nursing
  • Oversee Infection Control surveillance.
  • Facilitate Medical Groups as directed by Clinical Director / Director of Nursing.
  • Participate in regular department meetings and staff meetings.
  • Encourage efficient utilization of supplies and equipment to prevent waste.
  • Maintains effective communication between outside medical services and the facility
  • Completes all tasks with concern for work quality.
  • Demonstrates ability to work with Substance Abuse clients.
  • Demonstrates ability to accurately perform blood pressure reading on patient and report findings to nursing staff.
  • Demonstrates ability to accurately take patients pulse and report findings to nursing staff.
  • Demonstrates ability to have an understanding of normal as well as abnormal vital signs.
  • Demonstrates ability to complete UDS on patient according to company policy.
  • Demonstrates ability to test for pregnancy according to company policy.
  • Demonstrates adherence to accepted ethical and behavioral standards of conduct.

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Holds a current license as Registered Nurse or Licensed Practical Nurse in the state of facility and maintains current licensure per state requirements
  • Is a graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
  • Has nursing experience of at least 1 year, preferably with some experience in treatment of chemical dependency preferred.

Skills:

The ideal candidate will possess the ability to establish a therapeutic relationship with patients and their families, display good listening and observation skills, exhibit skills sufficient to adequately gather and record patient data specific to current and past medical status, and form objective impression of signs, symptoms and patient complaints and their implications concerning treatment planning. Additionally, candidate will exhibit the ability to be empathetic and understanding of patient needs. Ability to accurately document in EMR required.
