We are seeking a Project Management Specialist Contractor to join our team! 

POSITION DETAILS

JOB OVERVIEW

Under general supervision, lead project organization to ensure qualitative and quantitative target achievement in the implementation of new plants and suppliers in the management of supply chain from US suppliers to non-US & Van plants, as well as lead series operations for already implemented plants and suppliers.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Assist with developing a strategy for the overarching organizational unit and devise, agree and implement further strategic development.
• Manage the unit with regard to targets and key performance indicators and ensure reporting capability in partnership with the functional areas.
• Plan, agree and manage the budget and headcount in accordance with key performance indicators.
• Monitor compliance with budget targets, introduce and supervise cost-cutting measures where necessary, in liaison with the line manager, and develop an awareness of costs among staff.
• Manage cross-plant and cross-supplier projects within the individual area of responsibility.
• Act as a contact person for suppliers, internal service providers and plants abroad concerning order control and supply of components.
• Act as the key user of the WMS System, ensure professional implementation of processes within the IT system.
• Accompany the roll-out as a professional by executing system tests, system configurations, data migration and supporting the start-up etc.
• Control findings, analyze causes and initiate emergency measures.
• Define measures together with the affected departments at the international production locations, monitor the implementation and, if necessary, establish and monitor detailed targets.
• Request complaint audits from suppliers, call for measures and process optimization as well as monitor compliance.
• Execute Supply Chain Management within the relevant division (supply the RoW (except the US) with all parts from US suppliers in the course of standardized delivery processes and global supplier relations). 
• Ensure the availability of parts during bottlenecks and arrange appropriate measures; cooperate with the overall capacity and requirement boards in the case of cross-plant bottlenecks.
• Systematically and methodically analyze the process of controlling the certifying capability of quality data with the aim of recognizing mistakes preventively and impeding them.
• Obtain and process information of the development department, production department, material engineering department, analyses and measurement department, supplier management as well as of the central quality management.

Perform safe work practices and participate in trainings and safety programs in a positive and proactive way by following safety rules, procedures, regulations, standards and laws.  Report all unsafe acts, unsafe conditions, and injuries to supervisor or Human Resources.
Work safely 100% of the time. Perform other duties as required.

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum level of education
(Note: Engineering and/or IT MUST require technical degrees)
This position requires a Bachelor's degree in (Choose all the apply):

Business Administration, Engineering  
Or related area or the equivalent combination of education and experience.

PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE
A minimum of five (5) years' of relevant professional experience in the following area(s):
Project management role or related area, particularly working with cross-functional and international projects.

  • Excellent knowledge of Daimler internal Production, particularly for Logistics and Quality processes
  • Ability to work in a team with high commitment and great flexibility

  • Ability and willingness to work in a cross-functional team environment
  • Ability to travel as needed (especially to Mexico) and to be flexible as required by the business
