PRODUCTION SCHEDULING ASSISTANT

Silva is seeking a Production Scheduler Assistant responsible for general administration and scheduling job tasks as assigned by Master Scheduler. This includes creating job packets, BOM maintenance, raw material allocation, and closing production jobs to effectively meet customer service levels. Production Scheduler Assistant will be an integral part of the Silva Scheduling Team and the right candidate will demonstrate competence in the categories below alongside of a positive and can-do attitude.

Primary Functions:

  • Responsible for ensuring Scheduling Clerk responsibilities are covered to ensure accurate and efficient Scheduling department administration supporting Plant Production department.
  • Allocation, scheduling, and closing all production paperwork as directed by the Scheduling Manager or Master Scheduler.
  • Creating production jobs when prompted through Deacom (ERP) workflow.
  • Creating and closing MTS (make to stock) jobs and other tasks as assigned by the Master Scheduler.
  • Identify continuous improvement opportunities to improve scheduling workflow and inventory accuracy.
  • Perform other tasks which may not be reoccurring.

Secondary Functions:

  • Complete Deacom workflow responsibilities for ERP production jobs.
  • Review job information and attached documents in job packet for accuracy.
  • Printing labels for all productions as needed.
  • Create job packets and release to Production.
  • Email pick tickets to Puller Management for timely delivery of raw materials to Production.
  • Maintain label & printer supply inventory and replenish as necessary.

Job Requirements

  • Some college coursework and scheduling experience is preferred.
  • Experience working in or supporting Manufacturing Environment preferred.
  • Strong computer skills.
  • Able to work irregular or extended hours as needed to support team.
  • Strong critical thinking skills, decision-making skills, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Able to prioritize responsibilities.
  • Able to work independently and collaboratively as a part of a team.
  • Excellent written/verbal communication skills.
  • Flexible work schedule (including early start times).
  • Saturdays as required.

Physical Requirements:

  • Standard office environment.
  • Standard manufacturing environment with some stairs.
