<strong>Plant Manager </strong><br><br>Join a 5th generation family-owned company that has been in business for 130 years! Menzner Hardwoods Co. was founded in 1894 and has since grown to be one of the largest hardwood moulding manufacturers in the U.S. We currently employ approximately 450 people in four states. <br><br>Menzner Hardwoods Co. is seeking an experienced and confident Plant Manager for our West Union, South Carolina facility. This facility employs approximately 15 employees and produces dry lumber for use in our manufacturing facilities. This position reports directly to the Purchasing Manager - Lumber.<br><br><strong>Position Summary:</strong><br><br>This Plant Manager position is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of plant and the employees. Their duties include hiring and training manufacturing plant employees, reviewing production records to determine whether employees meet their performance expectations and coordinating with headquarters to enforce changes to plant budgets or safety procedures.<br><br><strong>Essential Duties and Responsibilities: </strong><br>&bull; Oversee daily operations<br>&bull; Oversee safety procedures and policies<br>&bull; Hire, train and supervise plant employees<br>&bull; Manage production<br>&bull; Develop plans that help operations run smoothly<br>&bull; Collect and review data to reduce inefficiencies and waste<br>&bull; Evaluate employees and give suggestions for improvement<br>&bull; Oversee work schedules to ensure coverage<br>&bull; Perform routine safety checks on equipment<br>&bull; Other assignments as needed<br><br><strong>Skills & Qualifications: </strong><br>&bull; High school degree or equivalent; Bachelor's degree in business management, business, or related field preferred; Master's in business administration or management a plus<br>&bull; 3 years' previous experience as a plant manager, supervisor, or related position<br>&bull; Experience with hardwood lumber drying and handling required<br>&bull; Hardwood lumber sales experience preferred<br>&bull; Strong knowledge of local, state, and federal health and safety regulations<br>&bull; Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Excel)<br>&bull; Strong management skills with the ability to supervise multiple teams<br>&bull; Strict adherence to company standards and safety procedures<br>&bull; Able to multitask, prioritize, and manage time efficiently<br>&bull; Excellent leadership, team building, and management skills<br>&bull; Able to physically stand, bend, squat, and lift up to 30 pounds<br>&bull; Good interpersonal skills and communication with all levels of management<br>&bull; In-depth knowledge of industry and its place in the market<br>&bull; Able to analyze problems and strategize for better solutions
