Operating Room Registered Nurse

JOB SUMMARY

We are seeking a dedicated Operating Room Registered Nurse to independently plan, implement, and evaluate nursing care in patient care situations. The role involves providing direct nursing care to patients, assuming teaching and leadership responsibilities, and participating in unit committee and quality improvement activities.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Locate and document medical and nursing patient care information
• Obtain patient history using appropriate interview techniques
• Deliver patient care and treatment using critical thinking skills
• Evaluate outcomes of care to determine if patient needs were met
• Complete care assignments in a reasonable amount of time
• Maintain communication with patient family/significant other as patient progresses through continuum of care

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS

• Licensed as a Registered Nurse (RN) or Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) in the State of Florida
• One year of recent OR experience is required
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required from the American Red Cross or American Heart Association
• Advanced Life Support (ALS) certification required from the American Red Cross or American Heart Association
• Intermediate computer knowledge: Uses Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and Windows
