Manager of Procurement - Food / Dairy

The Manager of Procurement is responsible for building and maintaining supplier relationships to meet business needs. This position will develop procurement strategies that are inventive and cost-effective.<br><br><strong>Duties and Responsibilities: </strong><br><ul><li>Source and engage reliable suppliers and vendors; negotiate with suppliers and vendors to secure advantageous terms</li><li>Review existing contracts with suppliers and vendors to ensure on-going feasibility; perform risk assessments on potential contracts and agreements</li><li>Receive and create purchase requests</li><li>Evaluate all available vendors; negotiate pricing and contracts</li><li>Issue purchase orders</li><li>Collaborate with all departments to ensure receipt of products/services; verify data is entered and correct in ERP system</li><li>Collaborate with all departments to ensure quantity and quality of products/services; collaborate with QA for raw material approvals</li><li>Provide completed purchase documentation to Accounts Payable</li><li>Build and maintain long-term relationships with vendors and suppliers</li><li>Negotiate nondisclosure agreements, manufacturing agreements, supply agreements, and contracts for new and existing vendors</li><li>Establish robust purchasing KPIs, competitive bid systems, and analyze purchase variances</li><li>Prepare procurement reports</li></ul><br><strong>Education and/or Experience:</strong><br><ul><li>Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or Business Administration</li></ul><br><strong>Competencies:</strong><br><ul><li>Prior experience purchasing and sourcing Food ingredients, especially dairy ingredients and commodities like bulk cheese, cream, anhydrous milkfat, etc. , is required</li><li>Demonstrated knowledge of industry principles, procedures, and best practices</li><li>Demonstrated ability to manage supply chain operations</li><li>Experience using supply chain management software and tools</li><li>Demonstrated knowledge of preparation and review of contracts, invoicing, and negotiation terms</li><li>Ability to prioritize and complete tasks in a fast-paced environment</li><li>Exceptional analytical, problem solving, and organizational skills</li><li>Excellent time management skills with proven ability to meet deadlines</li></ul><br>This is a full-time job with benefits.
