Then come and join our global team as Benefits Consultant, Leave of Absence Specialist. <br> <br>The FMLA/Leave Consultant will oversee and administer All leave requests and accommodations requiring specialized attention, particularly those arising under the Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA), the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), state and local leave laws, and short-term or long-term disability plans. <br> <br>As a member of the benefit team this role:<ul> <li> Communicates with employees regarding their needs for leave and/or modified work schedules. Ensures that employees are aware of their responsibilities and of any documentation and notice required to qualify for and to take leave. </li> <li> Engages with leave of absence administration vendor and other vendor related activities </li> <li> Maintains reasonable communication with employees on leave to facilitate smooth and timely return to work; relays communication between employees and their managers during leave within reason. </li> <li> Advises managers and employees on the interaction of leave laws with paid time off and short-term and long-term disability benefits. </li> <li> Oversees the return-to-work process for employees returning from extended FMLA or other leave(s). </li> <li> Coordinates updates to pay, timekeeping and HRMS records </li> <li> Facilitates other leave requests, which may include accommodation requests under the ADA. </li> <li> Drafts and/or recommends revisions to company leave policies to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local laws and regulations. </li> <li> Maintains complete and accurate records of leave and accommodation requests in accordance with specified legal requirements and documentation of best practices. </li> <li> Preserves confidentiality of documentation and files. </li> <li> Maintains knowledge of all applicable leave and accommodation laws including the FMLA, ADA, and state and local laws. </li> <li> Develops and maintains documentation of leave process. </li> <li> Provides updates to Knowledge Management team for appropriate knowledge-based articles for HR/Managers/Employees. </li> <li> Resolves escalations related to leaves. </li> <li> Monitors the benefits mailbox </li> <li> Participates in other benefit projects and activities as needed </li> </ul> <strong> Required Skills/Abilities: </strong> <br> <ul> <li> 3-5 Years Extensive knowledge of the leave requirements and other legal protections afforded by the FMLA, ADA, SDI and other applicable laws. </li> <li> Strong organizational skills </li> <li> Excellent written and verbal communication skills. </li> <li> Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. </li> <li> Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. </li> <li> Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, Workday and Ceridian </li> </ul> <strong> Education and Experience: </strong> <br> <ul> <li> Bachelors degree in Human Resources or equivalent experience </li> <li> Five years of human resource experience preferred. </li> <li> CEBS coursework or certification </li> <li> Completion of specialized certification or training on FMLA/leave administration a plus. </li></ul> <br> <strong> <br> To find out more about the specific business, have a look at https://usa.healthcare.siemens.com/about <br> </strong> <br> <br> <strong> <strong> <br> </strong></strong> <br> <strong>Who we are:</strong> <br> We are a team of more than 71,000 highly dedicated Healthineers in more than 70 countries.
