Lead Laboratory Project Manager

GEI’s in-house laboratory conducts biological, chemical, and toxicological testing services. Our laboratory services include identification of benthic invertebrates, ambient and whole effluent toxicity (WET) testing, and low-level nutrient chemistry. The Lead Laboratory Project Manager (LLPM) is specific to the WET lab and is a multifaceted position that includes day-to-day lab coordination tasks, client coordination, data analysis and reporting, and supervisory duties. In addition to the standard LPM tasks, the Lead LPM would coordinate and track all internal lab studies, coordinate meetings and support LPMs in supervisory and day-to-day tasks. The Lead LPM will also provide QA/QC for internal studies and all bioassay reports. Bachelor’s degree in environmental science, biology, or ecology required. Coursework in ecotoxicology desired. Prior WET experience is preferred. This position has a salary range of $27.00/hour to $35.00/hour with starting salary dependent upon experience. Qualifications Perform WET testing and other support tasks on a daily basis Primary contact for a portion of the WET clients Scheduling client tests Work with other LPMs to create prep sheets for client tests Meet with LPMs 2x weekly to coordinate tasks Work with other LPMs to coordinate and assist in reporting and stats Complete billing for LPM clients Initial quality assurance/quality control (QA/QC) check for bioassay reports Combined supervision of techs with other LPMs Work with other LPMs to create daily schedules Work with other LPMs to train new staff as-needed Coordinating reference toxicant studies QA/QC for weekly prep sheets Agenda prep and holding weekly lab meeting Work with QA/QC officer to coordinate and report DMRQA studies We are GEI.
