Kent Pet Group (KPG), a member of the KENT® Corporation family of companies, has a fantastic opportunity to join their team as a Process Engineer Intern for the summer of 2025!~ Paid Internship ~ Paid Housing ~ Community Events ~ Family-Owned ~ Great ExperiencePRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:Assist Technical team in increasing production, assess capacity and flexibility while minimizing unnecessary costs and maintaining current quality standardsWork directly with operations team in troubleshooting and resolving process issuesAbility to learn process flows and production specifications to help drive production efficienciesMonitors operations data and assists in corrective actions to drive operational excellenceHelps develop systems and processes that track and optimize productivity and standards, metrics and performance targets to ensure effective return on assetsIdentify opportunities to prevent waste and inefficiency in productionAbility to learn and create required manufacturing process documentation, including process flow charts, capacity and utilization studies, time and motion studies, standard work, cycle time analysis and line balancingCollaborate with cross-functional teams to gain insight and directionEnsures compliance with health and safety laws, regulations, and guidelines, including EPA and OSHA requirementsEDUCATION:Majoring in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering preferredEXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS:Completion of 2 or more semesters in EngineeringInterest and general understanding of lean manufacturing principlesProficiency with analytical tools, workflow time study, and process balancingInternship or co-op experience in an operations or manufacturing environment strongly desiredComputer literacyUnderstand, create, and update process flows; including documentation and standard operating proceduresTRAVEL:Up to 10% travel for meetings or training may be required.OTHER:Must be able to lift 32-pound bags of litter on an infrequent basis
