Jefferson Healthcare is currently searching for a highly motivated Exercise Physiologist to join our Pulmonary Rehab Team. This is an exciting opportunity to become a part of our growing program and contribute to this crucial service line for our community. We are seeking a candidate who is self-directed, proactive and possesses a strong background.

Position Description:

The Exercise Physiologist is responsible for properly prescribing exercise for all patient populations, monitoring vital signs and telemetry during exercise sessions prepares correspondence to referring physicians when appropriate and participates in resulting action/intervention. This role includes the operation of the monitor system, documentation of rehab participants' response to exercise, and strength training while reporting notable changes in participants' condition and participating in appropriate interventions.

The Exercise Physiologist must be able to self-direct completion of work with minimal supervision as well as function as a team member in the achievement of both patient care, and departmental and organizational goals. Demonstrates basic knowledge of cardiac anatomy and biomechanics, pathophysiology and risk factor modification, health appraisals and fitness testing exercise programming, nutrition and weight management as it relates to both cardiac and pulmonary patient populations. Performs case management of rehab patients to include intake, referrals, and all Phase 1 rehabilitation care components. Ensures department activities and outcomes are aligned with the strategic plan and the organization's mission, vision, and values.

What you'll need:

  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Exercise Science from an approved school of Exercise Physiology and Training
  • Bachelor of Kinesiology and Exercise Science with ACE certification in group exercise
  • Additional courses related to Cardiac Rehabilitation preferred
  • Preferred two-year experience as an Exercise Physiologist in a Cardiac Rehab program.
  • BLS certification required
  • Must stay current in the knowledge base, certifications, and licenses indicated above, and meet Hospital-mandated education requirements

Schedule : 1.0 FTE; 40 hours/week; Monday through Friday; 8-hour day shifts
