Job Description
Sellers & Associates, LLC (S&A) is seeking a Systems Engineer II to work on our client's site in Washington, DC.
The Systems Engineer II applies the theories and principles of science and mathematics to research and develop economical solutions to technical problems. This role bridges perceived social needs and commercial applications by designing products, machinery, and processes, developing new materials, and ensuring the effective and efficient use of raw materials. Systems Engineers also analyze the environmental and societal impact of the products and systems they develop, working in design, development, testing, production, and maintenance.
Job Responsibilities

  • Research and develop economical solutions to technical problems by applying scientific and mathematical principles.
  • Design and develop products, machinery, and systems to meet social needs and commercial applications.
  • Implement improved methods for extracting, processing, and utilizing raw materials, such as petroleum and natural gas.
  • Develop new materials that enhance product performance and leverage technological advances.
  • Analyze the environmental and societal impact of developed products and systems.
  • Supervise production in factories, ensuring quality and addressing breakdowns.
  • Conduct testing of manufactured products to maintain quality standards.
  • Estimate the time and cost required to complete engineering projects.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure project success.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in engineering.

  • Master's degree in any engineering discipline.
  • 10+ years of professional experience in engineering.
  • Strong understanding of scientific and mathematical principles and their application to engineering problems.
  • Experience in designing and developing products, machinery, and systems.
  • Proficiency in developing and utilizing new materials and technologies.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Strong communication and collaboration abilities.
  • Ability to supervise production, conduct testing, and maintain quality standards.
  • Experience estimating project time and cost requirements.
Must Have
  • Active Secret Clearance
  • Extensive experience in applying engineering principles to solve technical problems.
  • Proven track record in designing and developing innovative products and systems.
  • Strong understanding of materials science and technological advancements.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to supervise and maintain quality in production environments.
Nice to Have
  • Professional certifications in engineering or related disciplines.
