Child Support Attorney I /II/III/IV

Annual Salary -  Salary level depends on the experience level of the applicant chosen.

Level I (E80A):  $66,666.67 +

Level II (E80B):  $71,428.57 +

Level III (E80C):  $76,190.48 +

Level IV (E80D):  $85,714.29 +

Job-related travel is OCCASIONAL. Must possess a valid driver's license and maintain required car insurance.

 

Preferred Minimum Qualifications

Level I -  Education and Experience requirements at this level consists of a Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school, a license to practice law in State of Oklahoma, and membership in Oklahoma Bar Association.

Level II -  Education and Experience requirements at this level consist of a Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school, a license to practice law in State of Oklahoma; an active membership of the Oklahoma Bar Association and two years of legal experience or adjudicative experience.

Level III -  Education and Experience requirements at this level consist of a Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school, a license to practice law in State of Oklahoma, an active membership of the Oklahoma Bar Association, and five years of legal experience or adjudicative experience.

Level IV -  Education and Experience requirements at this level consist of a Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school, a license to practice law in State of Oklahoma, an active membership with the Oklahoma Bar Association, and seven years of legal experience including two years of litigation, or agency-defined experience in the practice of law e.g. tax, or supervisory experience.

Job Responsibilities

  • The position involves the preparation and filing of pleadings and trial of cases in child support-related hearings in the district and administrative courts.
  • Duties will also include consultation and negotiation with other attorneys and customers of Oklahoma Child Support Services, and interpretation of laws, regulations, opinions of the court and policy.  
  • The position will train and assist staff with the preparation of legal documents and ensure their compliance with ethical considerations.
 

Preference Statement

Preference may be given to candidates with experience in child support.
