Provide home based child and family development support services to designated enrolled families in accordance with Parents as Teachers program model. Works with parents and Child Care Providers to enhance educational activities and interactions with children and advocate for appropriate family and child resources and promote family stability. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: The following duties are not intended to serve as a comprehensive list of all duties performed. Other duties may be assigned. Provide home based personal visits with each designated enrolled family on an assigned case load and involve parents in educational activities to enhance their role as the primary educator in accordance with program guidelines. Encourage the formation and maintenance of strong families and parents' ability to care for children in their own homes by educating and empowering parents to be the best parent they can be and that they are their child's first and foremost teacher. Instruct parents individually or in groups in behavior modification, physical development, language development, and conceptual learning exercises and activities. Deliver targeted trainings to State of Alaska licensed Child Care Providers and KANA Approved Providers in various settings as assigned. Training settings including group and individual delivery in and out of Child Care facilities. Conduct recruitment activities within the community to attract families to participate in the Cama'i Program. Administer required developmental and health screenings with each family; encourage family to receive and advocate for appropriate services for each child, including health care, early intervention and special education services as appropriate. Administer required family assessments, intake forms, and other forms as required by the program. Arrange and facilitate group connections for families; obtain feedback from families regarding group activity ideas and informational topics to encourage family participation. Support parents in implementing positive discipline techniques, routines, sleep transitions, nutrition, family goals and information relating to developmentally appropriate practices with their own child/children and family. Responsible for establishing and maintaining accurate program files on site. Enter all visit records in online data system. Prepare and submit reports, monthly program narratives, and all other required paperwork as assigned by supervisor.
