Assist in implementing a recruiting plan and evaluate and identify qualified student-athletes. Work with local high schools and clubs to organize and execute pool rentals. Commitment to working and teaching within an environment that embraces the holistic development of the student-athlete. Serve in an administrative capacity and have a secondary duty as directed by the Athletic Administration. Comply with all <span>NCAA</span> Division <span>III</span>, <span>NEWMAC</span>, and Wheaton College rules and regulations.<br /><br /><strong>Essential Responsibilities:</strong><br /><br /></div><ul><li>Teach and develop student-athletes skills, conditioning, and sports knowledge. Organize and conduct team practices to prepare the team for competition. Travel locally, regionally, and nationally for any regular or post-season events.</li><li>Develop and execute a recruiting plan for prospective student-athletes.</li><li>Serve in an administrative capacity or other duties as assigned as needed, directed by the head coach and athletic administration.</li><li>Oversee student-athlete’s academic progress and be available for consultation and support for overall student-athlete well-being.</li><li>Create and implement a plan of engagement and communication with alumni and fundraising initiatives.</li></ul><br /><br /><b>Minimum Qualifications:</b><br /><ul><li>Bachelor’s Degree in a related field and 2-3 years of collegiate coaching experience required, or an equivalent combination of education and experience</li><li>Valid Driver’s License</li><li>Ability to work independently</li><li>Ability to work evenings and weekends throughout the year to accomplish the tasks necessary for success in this field</li><li>Commitment to working and teaching within an environment that embraces the development of students around their education, cultural diversity, mental health awareness, and healthy masculinity</li><p></p></ul><div><br /></div><br /><br /><b>Preferred Qualifications:</b><br /><ul><li>Master’s degree</li><li>Collegiate water polo experience</li><li>2-3 years of collegiate water polo coaching experience preferred</li><p></p></ul><div><br /></div><br /><br /><b>Compensation and Benefits:</b><br /><div>To attract and retain the most talented individuals, Wheaton College maintains a flexible and competitive staff compensation and <a href="https://wheatoncollege.edu/about-wheaton-college/offices-services/human-resources/employee-benefits-and-policies/"><strong>benefits</strong></a> program.<br /><br />When determining and establishing hiring rates or recruitment ranges for a position, the College considers a number of factors including the budget for the position, the range of the grade, the external market for the position or similar positions, level and scope of responsibilities, required education, skills and relevant experience as well as internal equity.
