Vice President - Third Party Outbound Transportation & Technology

<p style="text-align:left"><b>Job Summary</b></p><p style="text-align:inherit"></p><p style="text-align:left"><b>Job Description</b><p><span>This position leads the strategic management and execution of Medline’s third party Transportation activities including freight, less than truckload, parcel carriers, backhaul operations and transportation systems strategy and reports to the Senior Vice President of Transportation with accountability for a cost structure in excess of $250 million annually.</span><span> </span><p><span><span><b><span>Responsibilities</span></b></span></span></p><ul><li><p><span><span>Oversee the strategic and day to day operations of the third party carrier performance in the areas of quality (Damage), service (On-Time Delivery) and cost and partner closely with third parties to drive continuous improvement.</span></span></p></li><li><p><span><span><span>Lead negotiations and cultivate strong, strategic relationships with third party carriers (TL, LTL and Parcel) for Medline’s benefit.</span><span> </span>Collaborate with internal and external resources to enhance shipment visibility and tracking across the network.</span></span></p></li><li><p><span><span>Partner closely with the private fleet to optimize outbound and backhaul transportation flows, ensuring optimal quality, service and end-to-end cost across Medline.<span> </span></span></span></p></li><li><p><span><span>Oversee and provide direction to ensure accuracy of third party invoicing and timely payments in line with agreed upon payment terms.</span></span></p></li><li><p><span><span>Build, communicate and execute a clear strategy around use of third party carriers (freight and parcel) that delivers the optimal balance of service, flexibility and efficiency in integration with private fleet operations.</span></span></p></li><li><p><span><span>Ensure evergreen end-to-end Transportation systems strategy exists and is implemented with impact.</span></span></p></li><li><p><span><span>Participate in planning and execute response efforts to local, regional and national emergencies.</span></span></p></li></ul><p><b>Requirements </b></p><div><ul><li><p>Bachelor’s degree </p></li><li><p>10&#43; years of experience in Transportation, Procurement and/or Supply Chain Operations</p></li><li><p>Demonstrated experience negotiating partnership agreements in excess of $100 million.</p></li><li><p>Demonstrated experience driving continuous improvement in performance with third party, strategic partners.</p></li><li><p>Demonstrated experience achieving results through TMS system strategy and application.</p></li><li><p>End-to-end mindset that focused on optimal outcomes for the company</p></li><li><p>Exceptional strategic negotiating skills</p></li><li><p>Strong executive presence engaging with third party partners, customers, sales leaders and peer group.</p></li><li><p>Position requires travel up to 25% of the time for business purposes</p></li></ul></div><p><p style="text-align:inherit"></p><p style="text-align:left"><b>Benefits</b> - Medline is committed to offering competitive benefits and a variety of choices to best meet the needs of you and your family.
