  • Join the #1 hospital in Wisconsin! We are seeking a Registered Nurse to join the team on the Pediatric Float unit.
  • Nurses on this 21-bed unit care for children from newborn to adult.
  • Nurses will be floating to potentially five different units at the American Family Children's Hospital including seeing GC, IMC or ICU patients.
  • Prior float experience is a plus!
  • Nurses provide comprehensive care for patients admitted with a wide variety of both medical and surgical problems.
  • Problems include: general care along with ICU patients including acute head injuries, critical neurological disorders, pulmonary diseases, cardiac anomalies, organ transplantation, multi system organ failure, and ECMO.
    Job Requirements
  • Must have general pediatric and pediatric ICU experience.
  • Must be willing to work in the ICU, IMC and GC units.
  • Trach experience is preferred.
  • Traveler must have completed two years of acute care experience within last 3 years.
  • Traveler must have experience in an Academic Level 1 - Trauma center or similar size hospital.
  • Successfully completed traveler assignment (13 weeks).
  • Needs 2 completed references from recent work environment/assignments (supervisor or manager only for work performed in the last two years).
  • Traveler must have Basic Arrhythmia experience.
  • Traveler will be required to pass UW Health Telemetry test prior to being cleared to start (not for clinic positions).
    Schedule Information
  • Travelers are the first to float to floors working with children up to 1 year of age and/or based on the traveler's competency skills/experience.
  • The Traveler may have shifts scheduled in multiple units, depending on the current staffing needs and/or different locations within the organization.
  • During the travelers assignment, if the primary unit no longer has a need, shifts will be re-assigned to another unit in order to complete contract.
