**Job Purpose**
The Statehouse Supervisor supports the Restaurant Management team in providing proper training and supervision of all restaurant and bar personnel. This position will ensure prompt, courteous service in a manner that complies with The Edgewater Food & Beverage standards as well as Edgewater company policies and procedures. The Supervisor will work to ensure the overall success of the restaurant by guest satisfaction surveys and time, labor and financial controls.
* The AM Statehouse supervisor is responsible for the overall success of the breakfast and lunch periods in the Statehouse restaurant by exceeding guest expectations in food & beverage service.
* Open the restaurant five days per week (6am-2pm) and day-to-day supervision of Statehouse staff as the restaurant's manager on duty.
* Provide service to tables on slower days to earn income through gratuity.
* Manage flow of the restaurant through seating of in-house hotel guests and local patrons.
* Work with the culinary team to offer and promote breakfast and lunch specials
* Build AM breakfast and lunch clientele by generating a rapport with frequent guests.
* Provide guidance, training, and support for other AM staff.
* Supervise the set up and organization of the restaurant so it is ready for the following meal period.
* Communicate with the hotel to stay informed on any upcoming events and programs that may affect business levels in the restaurant.
* Support the Statehouse Manager with tasks including but not limited to reviewing inventory, preparing and leading pre-shift meetings, resolving customer issues or complaints, menu creation and development, and leading staff.
* Continually promote a teamwork mentality by offering support to all other colleagues in the restaurant and throughout the hotel.
**What You Have**
* Previous experience as a manger, supervisor or lead in a restaurant setting. Experience in a hotel/resort is a plus.
* A proven track record of effectively supervising and coaching staff to drive consistent quality of service and products.
* The ability to work a flexible schedule including days, nights, weekends and public holidays.
* Excellent interpersonal skills and a coaching/mentor attitude.
* The ability to effectively manage and enforce service standards with bartenders, servers, hosts and food runners - providing training and guidance where needed.
* Willingness to learn new restaurant service concepts and ideas.
* Strong attention to detail and the ability to handle multiple tasks at once.
* Ability to communicate effectively with guests, co-workers and management.
* Strong customer service skills and the ability to resolve customer issues or complaints directly.
* Must be able to perform multiple tasks and prioritize efficiently.
* Must have excellent working knowledge of liquors, beers and wine.
* Ability to lift, push, pull a minimum of 50lbs
**Additional Qualifications**
* Must be 18 or older
* Open availability with the expectation of typically working 5 shifts a week as a full-time team member or 2-4 shifts as a part-time team member - with shifts ranging from 8-10 hours.
* Food Safety Certification is preferred.
* Bartending experience is preferred.

**Working Conditions**
This position operates in a full-service, professional restaurant environment. Restaurant staff are required to use standard restaurant equipment such as point-of-sale computers, cash registers, commercial glassware and plate ware cleaning systems, etc., are required to work in our kitchen areas when receiving food orders and returning dishware. This position requires evening/weekend work.
