The Anesthesia Tech Supervisor is responsible for planning, organizing and coordinating day-to-day operations for Anesthesia Support Services and serves as a key contact and resource for other anesthesia techs. Will work in part as an anesthesia tech and prioritize appropriate clinical activities STATUS: Full Time LOCATION: Rochester General Hospital DEPARTMENT: Anesthesia SCHEDULE: Day/Eve/Night- Rotating weekends & holidays ATTRIBUTES HS diploma Minimum one year of supervisory experience or equivalent leadership experience A minimum of three years of demonstrated experience working as an Anesthesia Tech (or closely related experience in a fast paced OR and/or hospital environment) Anesthesia Tech certification preferred. Knowledge of medical/surgical and anesthesia related terminology Knowledge of medical and computer software systems Must be available to support staff during all hours of business RESPONSIBILITIES Reviewing and evaluating the flow of work within the Department of Anesthesia on an ongoing basis and identifying areas where operational efficiencies need improvement Scheduling daily staff assignments and work schedules Evaluating quality and quantity of work performed by the anesthesia technicians Completing performance appraisals and evaluations Ensuring equipment is in good working order and facilitating the repair or replacement of equipment as appropriate Responsibility for maintaining a cost effective inventory control system, inventory supply levels and prepare requisitions for additional supplies and equipment Support regular quality assurance programs and coach the anesthesia tech team to meet appropriate quality outcomes Maintaining open communication with other hospital departments including (but not limited to): the Operating Room; Cardiac Cath and EP labs; GYN services; Radiology and Emergency Services; Biomed, ICU's and other nursing units Interpreting, enforcing and supporting hospital and departmental policies, procedures and protocols Assist with setting up and cleaning anesthesia equipment and supplies, stocking cabinets and supply carts, returning unused supplies/equipment to appropriate locations Performing first line equipment maintenance, calibrations and troubleshoot anesthesia monitoring equipment as required Assist anesthesiologists and CRNAs as needed Completing other job-related duties and special projects as assigned Planning, organizing and coordinating day-to-day operations for Anesthesia Support Services and serves as a key contact and resource for other anesthesia techs. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: S - Sedentary Work - Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time, but may involve walking or standing for brief periods of time. Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required only occasionally and all other sedentary criteria are met. LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS: BLS - Basic Life Support - American Heart Association (AHA) PAY RANGE: $20.50 - $28.38 The listed base pay range is a good faith representation of current potential base pay for successful applicants. It may be modified in the future. Pay is determined by factors including experience, relevant qualifications, specialty, internal equity, location, and contracts.
