Liberty POST is currently seeking amotivated and energetic Early Childhood Speech Language Pathologist (Center Based) for full time employment to work with children who are 3-5 years old through Preschool Special Education programs. Immediate positions are available throughout Rochester .

We employ over 500 professionals in a variety of settings and offer a collaborative team approach to provide evaluation, direct therapy, and family education through child-directed play. Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for children's health and safety at all times, and is aware of and implements behavioral, universal precautions, and emergency procedures as per Agency Policy and Procedure Manual
  • Maintains confidentiality of client information.
  • Provides a developmentally appropriate, child focused, and safe active learning environment during therapy.
  • Collaborates with team members and follows classroom management strategies and individual behavioral supports for specific children as per agency philosophies.
  • Assists with the care and maintenance of equipment onsite, including daily cleaning of toys/materials.
  • Attends and participates in conferences and workshops related to early childhood development, education and related areas, as well as all regularly scheduled faculty and staff meetings.
  • Establishes and maintains a positive interpersonal relationship with all children, parents/ legal guardians, and work related contacts.
  • Serves as a mandated reporter and reports any suspicion of child abuse or neglect to School Administrator.
  • Effectively accesses and utilizes Liberty POST website and SharePoint to gain needed information, enter electronic treatment notes, access forms, parent education information, continuing education information, and Employee Handbook.
  • Checks and responds to e-mail regularly.
  • Reviews and signs attestation of each child's IEP and implements therapy in alignment with the specifications regarding location duration and frequency as per the child's IEP.
  • Plans and implements specific strategies/instruction and activities which reflect the goals/objectives of the child's IEP.
  • Maintains progress records including anecdotal notes, data collections, and checklists for children on caseload
  • Assesses children both formally and informally leading up to Quarterly and Annual Review reports
  • Provides periodic timely and formalized communication to parents in the form or written reports, phone calls, emails and meetings.
  • Follows mandatory guidelines according to the Regional Policies and Procedures and Employee Handbook.

  • Maintains professional boundaries within the work setting.
  • Receives and implements constructive feedback from leadership staff.
  • Promotes diversity and demonstrates respect and appreciation for co-workers and clients and their families.
  • Takes responsibility for quality of own work.
  • Communicates problematic clinical issues with respective team leader.
  • Establishes and maintains a rapport with clients/family members/caregivers and co-workers as well as provides weekly education and training as appropriate.
  • Uses reflection and sets professional goals.
  • Represents Liberty POST in a professional manner.
  • Performs related duties as may be required.
Qualifications, Knowledge and Experience:
  • Current New York State License and Certification in Speech Pathology
  • Valid Driver's License
  • Early Childhood Experience - 1-year minimum

Pay Rate:
Range: $50,000 - $58,000/year; 10-month position
