Surgical Technologist

BASIC FUNCTION: The Surgical Technologist is a member of the surgical healthcare team and provides support to surgeons, nursing staff and the anesthesia team in the operating room.
RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Arranges supplies and instruments and keeps accurate count of the instruments
• Helps the surgical team to scrub and dress for surgery
• Passes instruments and other sterile supplies during surgery, applies dressings, helps to prepare and preserve specimens
• Operates the sterilizer, lights, suction machines and diagnostic equipment.
• Assists with maintenance of surgical equipment, inventory, and sterilization.
• Assists Circulating RN in assessing operating room for equipment function, readiness, supply availability and ensures need of operating team are met.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• 1 - 2 years of working experience in a healthcare setting.
• Must have current BLS card upon hire and maintain current status throughout GRHD employment.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Graduation from an accredited Surgical Technologist program required.
• Certification with the Association of Surgical Technologists preferred.
• Registered as a Surgical Technologist with the State of Colorado required.

SALARY INFORMATION:
$23.95 - $33.00 hourly dependent on experience
Call is required for this position
