Our clinical providers provide trauma-informed, person-centered care in order to best support our client’s recovery goals for co-occurring conditions.

*Job description*

The mental health therapist is an essential part of our interdisciplinary team who provides individual and group therapy, participates in individualized treatment planning by developing assessments and appropriate modes of therapy to assist clients with mental health and co-occurring substance abuse issues in a high intensity intensive outpatient, intensive outpatient and outpatient setting.

*Job Functions:*

● Provide high quality, compassionate, and ethical counseling to clients as scheduled in individual and group therapy settings.

● Actively participate as a positive member of an interdisciplinary treatment team.

● Complete co-occurring treatment plans for each client in caseload and regularly update based on client progress.

● Complete clinical assessments and documentation as necessary, including but not limited to biopsychosocial assessments, ASAM assessment, concurrent reviews, psychotherapy progress notes, treatment plan updates, transfer and discharge plans, etc.

● Responsible for scheduling individual appointments as directed by the supervisor.

● Ability to deliver evidence-based/best-practice group therapy and psychoeducational curriculum that focuses on mental health stabilization, development of healthy coping skills, etc.

● Responsible for scheduling individual appointments as directed by the supervisor.

● Minimal supervision regarding use of time.

● Complete accurate clinical documentation same day as date of service.

● Maintain good standing with the appropriate board and insurance entities.

● Complete all recommended continuing education requirements.

● Stay current with updated research and best practices.

● Be aware of community referral sources and refer when necessary.

● Secure client information per HIPAA standards.

*Qualification Requirements:*

All potential candidates must pass a 12 panel pre-employment drug screening to include Cannabis.

● Masters Degree in Counseling, Social Work, Marriage & Family Therapy, or related field, from an accredited college or university.

● At least 2 years of experience working in the behavioral health and/or substance abuse field is preferred. Experience working with veterans is a bonus!

● Strong computer skills required, experience with electronic medical records preferred.

● Ability to communicate effectively with clients, their loved ones and professionals.

● Ability to make sound decisions in emergency situations.

● Familiarity and knowledge of trauma-informed care practices and evidenced-based treatment approaches in treating mental health and substance use disorders.

● Strong assessment skills. Knowledge of DSM-5-TR criteria. Experience with ASAM placement criteria for addiction is preferred.

● Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and analyze policies and procedures.

● Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.

● Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.

Working knowledge of community-based programs of recovery.

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: $69,000 - 81,000 per year
