This is an exciting open to be a Senior Data Scientist for AI features in Microsoft Teams. Copilot in Teams summarize conversations, automatically generate meeting notes, and much more. The person in this role will help build the next generation of AI experiences in Microsoft Teams. The role will span the full lifecycle of building an AI product from ideation, evaluating AI model output, and analyzing how customers are using the product.

Responsibilities

Automate the evaluation of AI model quality metrics. Prototype new capabilities using new AI models. Use Python to interact with and evaluate AI models. Design and execute experiments on new AI features and models. Develop models of usage, user behavior & business behavior to make recommendations and influence the product road map.

Qualifications

Required/Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree in Data Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Econometrics, Economics, Operations Research, Computer Science, or related field AND 3+ years data-science experience (e.g., machine learning or AI applications) OR Master's Degree in Data Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Econometrics, Economics, Operations Research, Computer Science, or related field AND 3+ years data-science experience (e.g., managing structured and unstructured data, applying statistical techniques and reporting results) OR Doctorate in Data Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Econometrics, Economics, Operations Research, Computer Science, or related field AND 1+ year(s) data-science experience (e.g., managing structured and unstructured data, applying statistical techniques and reporting results) OR equivalent experience. 3+ years of demonstrated experience in SQL, R, Python, or related tools for large-scale analysis and automation. 3+ years of demonstrated experience leveraging the practical uses of statistics (i.e. experimentation, statistical modeling).

Additional Or Preferred Qualifications

Experience as a data scientist for an online service, app, or Web site with millions of users. Experience with machine learning/AI in a live environment. Experience with generative AI technologies including large language models (LLMs). Experience with measuring AI/ML model quality and performance. Experience with large-scale computing systems like Hadoop, MapReduce, and/or similar systems.

Data Analytics IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $101,200 - $194,800 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $130,000 - $213,200 per year.
