JOB DESCRIPTION
Summary
Department : Telemetry
Shift Timings : 18:30-07:00 Hours 3 days 12 hour shift
Per Week : 36 Hours
This is a 28 bed cardiac telemetry unit, caring for all cardiac needs including post op care. Nurse to patient ratio is 1:4-6. The unit is also supported by PCTs and a Healthcare unit coordinator. Utilization of virtual sitter monitoring is available as well as monitor techs to monitor those on telemetry. This is a Level II trauma center serving a population of all ages. The nurses work together in teams and are supported by PCTs and a unit secretary.
Roles & Responsibilities
  • Implement and monitor patient care plans. Monitor, record and communicate patient condition as appropriate.
  • Serve as a primary coordinator of all disciplines for well-coordinated patient care.
  • Note and carry out physician and nursing orders.
  • Assess and coordinate patient's discharge planning needs with members of the healthcare team.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • BLS and ACLS
  • National Institutes of Health (NIH)
  • Sound knowledge of anatomy, physiology, pathology, and medical terminology.
  • The ability to stand for extended periods.
  • Strong technical skills.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology
  • Passionate about patient care
  • Requires a minimum of two years of current PCU/Telemetry experience.
  • Graduate from a fully accredited RN program
  • Active unencumbered Oklahoma RN state license
  • One year of Cerner experience
