Join our excellent nursing team at OU Health Physicians Tulsa in the Pediatric Clinic . The Pediatric nurse provides care for babies, toddlers, children, and teenagers in an outpatient setting. Those needs can range from prescription refills, assisting in the ordering of lab and diagnostic tests, and returning phone calls to triaging patients’ needs appropriately.  In addition, they support the providers in the office by rooming patients, obtaining vital signs, performing point of care testing, and administering vaccines and medications. Representative Responsibilities:

  • Patient Preparation.  Prepares patient for examination by the physician by having charts ready, etc.
  • Information Gathering.  Takes and records various readings such as heart and respiratory rate, blood pressure, weight, body temperature, etc.  Collects samples from patients including blood, urine, etc.  Prepares samples for analysis or shipment.  Collects all laboratory reports, data, and records. 
  • Patient Follow Up.  Makes follow up patient appointments, or follows up on patient appointments.  Answers routine questions from patients, family, etc. 
  • Medication Administration.  Under direction of physician or other medical personnel, administers medication to patients. 
  • Surgery Scheduling.  To include booking operating rooms, ordering surgical supplies and arranging for all preoperative laboratory studies for patients.
  • As Needed. Performs various duties as needed to successfully fulfill the function of the position.
