As an NMT, you will be responsible for the preparation of radiopharmaceutical agents and administering them to patients prior to using a scanner or camera to capture images. Tasks As an NMT, you should be prepared to perform the following tasks: Attain required approval and signature by nuclear medicine physicians Transfer, position, and instruct patients in preparation for procedures Operate the scanner or gamma scintillation camera. Perform procedures including injecting radiopharmaceuticals under the direct supervision of a radiologist Provide assistance to patients during procedures Ensure the environment is safe at all times for patients and staff by following safety and radiation disposal procedures Maintain accurate patient records Understand and use the McKesson PACS system Requirements Must have 1 year of experience. Must have BLS, NMT National certification from the AART or NMTCB, and state-specific licensing when required.
