SSTAR is a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) which affords our employees eligibility to apply for one of our three Loan Repayment Programs. The Nurse Practitioner provides a range of integrated care services in a patient-centered medical home model. The Nurse Practitioner will provide medical consultation and admissions to our inpatient addiction services. Substance use disorders, mental health issues and medical problems are addressed using well-established protocols. The Nurse Practitioner will also assist with outpatient primary care and medications for addiction insuranceDisability insurance through Massachusetts PFMLEmployee discounts, cell phone, eyewear etc.Health insuranceLife insurancePaid time offVision insuranceFlexible Spending AccountOpportunities to earn CEU'sVoluntary Benefits including but not limited to, Disability, Life, Critical Illness, Accident and Disability InsurancesDuties & ResponsibilitiesEvaluate patients by collecting a comprehensive multidimensional psychiatric assessment of each client, which includes mental status, current functioning, medication history, treatment history allergies, drug/alcohol use and medical problems.Obtain medical evaluation by a primary care medical doctor when client's clinical symptoms require PCP assessment.Enters data and maintain integrity of mental records.Initiate treatment and follow clients receiving psychotropic drug therapy based on their own clinical judgment in the context of an ongoing relationship with a collaborating psychiatrist and within his/her own area of expertise.Referrals made to psychiatrist when duties as assigned.Experience and SkillsEducation & ExperienceBoard certification as a Nurse Practitioner.Massachusetts's licensure to practice in the expanded nursing role.Possess or obtain prescription privileges in Massachusetts.Valid DEA and Mass Controlled working with mental health and addiction issues.
