SUMMARY

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Ability to interact with employees and mine management
  • Performing timekeeper functions, schedule generation, and schedule maintenance for all employees
  • Ensuring that time records are maintained in an accurate and timely manner
  • Utilizing resources including, daily audits and edits of the Time and Attendance application to achieve and maintain associated payroll integrity
  • Execute timekeeping clerical duties to the payroll department.
  • Maintain and manage timekeeping records of employees.
  • Check and inspect timekeeping records for errors and rectify.
  • Answer and respond to employees on timekeeping issues.
  • Analyze and evaluate current period payroll and timekeeping issues.
  • Adhere to corporate guidelines in managing timekeeping clerical functions.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively both verbally and in writing
  • Perform additional duties as assigned. These may be in the Accounting and Human Resources areas

Experience

  • At least 2 years of payroll experience in a union environment, preferred
  • SAP experience, preferred
  • Excellent computer skills
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office applications such as Word, Excel and Outlook
  • Experience with Kronos and/or Workforce is preferred

Job Requirements

  • Must be 18 years of age
  • High School Diploma or GED, preferred
  • Reliable transportation
  • Regular and punctual attendance
  • Effective communication is required (orally, written and electronic methods)
  • Must be capable of accurately, effectively, and efficiently performing duties
  • Experience working with day-to-day timekeeping and scheduling is preferred
  • Experience in troubleshooting, problem solving and conflict resolution
  • Must be able to work safely and effectively as part of a team or independently
  • Must be able to successfully pass a post offer drug test and background check
  • Ability to work in the United States without sponsorship

JOB SCHEDULE AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  • Must be able to work overtime, weekends and holidays as needed or as schedule requires (subject to applicant’s religious practices)
  • Ability/willingness to work any shift assigned (subject to the applicant’s religious practices)
  • Ability to lift floor-to-waist and waist-to-overhead
  • Ability to push/pull as needed
  • Standing, bending, step climbing, crawling and working overhead
  • Ability to perform heavy labor and lift 50+ pounds as needed
