POSITION SUMMARY The Network Administrator at NHS College is responsible for managing and maintaining the college's network infrastructure. This includes ensuring network security, optimizing performance, and supporting network-related projects. The role requires both technical expertise and excellent problem-solving skills.. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS and RESPONSIBILITIES: Network Management: Install, configure, and maintain network hardware and software. Implement and manage security protocols to protect network data. Regularly monitor network performance and troubleshoot issues. Provide technical support for network-related problems. Maintain detailed network documentation and diagrams. Plan and execute network upgrades and expansions. Ensure network operations comply with regulatory requirements. Ability to work effectively in a team environment. Flexibility to adapt to new technologies and processes. Strong commitment to providing excellent customer service. REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS and ABILITIES: Knowledge: Deep understanding of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, and other network protocols. Proficiency in configuring and maintaining routers, switches, firewalls, and other network devices. Familiarity with network monitoring tools and software. Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously Abilities: Ability to lift and move equipment up to 40 lbs., and to stand, walk, and use hands to handle or feel throughout the day. REQURED EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE: Minimum Qualifications: Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. 2-3 years of experience in network administration or a similar role. Preferred Qualifications: Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. Relevant certifications such as CCNA, CompTIA Network+, or similar. 3-5 years of hands-on experience in network administration.
