Tax Manager

*Job Description: *

We are looking for a tax manager to supervise and assist with tax return preparation and review, along with other duties. To be successful in this role, the qualified candidate must have the ability to manage a heavy workload under pressure, excellent attention to detail and strong communication skills. Frequent interactions with clients and other staff members are required. This position requires 50+ hours per week for the months of February, March, April, and October. The rest of the year the position will work 4 days per week, with Fridays off every week.



*Responsibilities*

- Preparation and review of individual, business, estate, trust, payroll, and sales tax returns.

- Ensuring Compliance with applicable tax laws and regulations at the local, state, and federal levels.

- Developing tax strategies and implementing tax planning initiatives.

- Coordinating and managing tax audits, inquiries, and examinations by taxing authorities.

- Managing a team of tax professionals, providing guidance, training, and performance evaluation.

- Manage office workflow.

*Requirements*

- 7+ Years work experience as a tax preparer/reviewer with increasing responsibility

- Bachelor’s degree in accounting (preferred)

- CPA License (preferred)

- Strong knowledge of basic accounting and tax concepts

- Experience reviewing tax returns prepared by others

- Meticulous attention to detail

- Ability to handle a heavy workload at a fast pace

- Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively communicate tax-related information to clients, staff, and taxing authorities

- Microsoft Excel Proficiency

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $35.00 - $45.00 per hour
